Great Race Crossing the Border

Sunday | June 24, 2012

Rainy weather as we cross the border to start the Great Race

Well, Sunday did nothing but rain. We left Sault Ste. Marie at 7:30 am  as the third car out, so it was an early start. We did OK today, had an ace on one leg that made Jewel and I very happy.
We went over the Mackinac  Bridge. It was very impressive. There is so much to see in America  and Canada. The race  went through some gorgeous country. The route  took some cars by surprise because we traveled over some long distances and gravel roads that were washed out and pretty rough.
We saw some break downs already but these guys are working pretty hard at night at the hotels to to get them back on the road Monday.
The final stop of the day was at Sudbury  in Ontaria, Canada. The car show there was a success.
